The superb Business Growth Programme (BGP) is a £33m business support programme targeted at existing Business-2-Business Small to Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) ready to invest, grow and create jobs across the Greater Birmingham & Solihull, Stoke-on-Trent and Staffordshire and The Marches Local Enterprise Partnership areas.
Managed by Birmingham City Council and part-funded by the European Regional Development Fund, BGP consists of 4 strands of support:
The Business Development Programme – grants of £10k – £20k towards project costs for businesses looking to expand/relocate business premises and/or improve access to markets.
The Business Innovation Programme – grants of £10k – £30k towards project costs for SMEs investing in innovative close-to-market processes, products and services.
The Green Bridge Supply Chain Programme – grants of £20k – £150k for supply chain companies operating in, or expanding into the green economy, demonstrating a quantifiable green benefit (i.e. energy efficiency, waste management, recycling and renewables).
The HS2 Supply Chain Programme – offering grants of £20k– £167k towards project costs for companies to realise their current growth plans, in order for them to take advantage of future HS2 business opportunities.
