Watch Whipped Shea Soufflé on BBC 1’s Sunday Morning Live show

Posted by Andy Parker on August 01, 2018

Architectural Assistant by day, shea whipper by night, APEC Architects’ Latticia Morapedi and her skincare product, Whipped Shea Soufflé, was featured in BBC 1’s Sunday Morning Live show this week with Clean Kilo – Birmingham’s first zero-waste shop, located in the heart of Digbeth. Clean Kilo is her first stockist, and in her segment, she spoke to June Sarpong about her skincare range.

Launched in June 2018, Latticia’s organic and vegan whipped shea soufflé is a luxurious fluffy blend of organic butters (mango and shea) with uber hydrating oils (sweet almond and jojoba oil), whipped by hand in small batches in her studio. The Soufflé is scented with a delicate blend of fine essential oils (lemongrass, lavender, geranium and cedarwood).

From as early as 14, Latticia learned first hand from her mother how living a holistic lifestyle can positively impact your skin and your health. After battling with acne and hyper-pigmentation through her teen years, and with nothing to show from potent skincare regimens and high coverage makeup, Latticia decided she needed to adopt a wellness approach. By eradicating the use of harsh chemical products, eating better and making natural skincare products, she was able to understand her body better.

Now aged 23, Latticia (see below) has established LATTICIA Organics, a platform and brand rooted in wellness and sharing knowledge of organic and natural ingredients. She believes that looking after your skin internally and externally is fundamental and she conveys this message to her community through digital content.

Latticia’s brand is personal; she is directly involved in branding, product developing, marketing and labelling. She also knows, from her own experience, that the wellness and natural skincare space lacks women of colour, which is why she consciously decided to put herself and her name at the forefront of her brand.

In between designing spaces for local communities and not-for-profit organisations as an Architectural Assistant at APEC Architects, you will often find Latticia in her home studio in Wolverhampton, whisking-pouring and labelling her organic, multi-use moisturiser.

Great to see Digbeth, The Clean Kilo, and Latticia on the show!
