Today is #DigitalDigbeth Day and it is incredibly exciting! A host of tech innovators and digital creatives are enjoying a day of presentations, demonstrations and masterclasses.
One of those is Yamination Studios, a fantastic Digbeth-based animation company specialising in stop motion animation. Taking its name from yam yam, a term referring to Black Country folk and their crazily cryptic vernacular, the studios are the embodiment of its creative founder Drew Roper.
Since its creation in 2009, Yamination has been up to its ears in developing shorts, pilots/promos and TV commercials for clients including Disney, Roald Dahl, Coca-Cola, Cravendale and Sky Arts.
In fact, when it comes to bringing little things to life, this place does it with buckets of passion, character and – most of the time – plasticine.
And while we’re talking about it, Yamination’s contribution to #DigitalDigbeth Day is going to focus on plasticine… digitally!
The team are thrilled to be able to showcase the studio’s catalogue of work and what they do, with a real insight through a physical demonstration of how they utilise ‘digital’ through the art of the animation process.
It’s going to be yet another fascinating and informative addition to #DigitalDigbeth Day.
