#DIGMAS 2016 – First Vegan & Ethical Market at the Custard Factory

Posted by Chris Pettitt on November 17, 2016

Alongside all of the fantastic entertainment, food and activities we’ve already revealed, we have been working with local organic drinks company U-Juice to curate a friendly selection of vegan stalls at #DIGMAS. Located in the Custard Factory’s beautiful Old Library, the vegan-friendly goods on offer will include clothing, jewellery, food & drink, beauty products and lots, lots more – all produced ethically and organically.

U-Juice owner JP says:

“We are so excited to be a part of this year’s #DIGMAS festival, it means the world to us and our vegan partners to be able to spread the love for everything vegan! Not only do we want to showcase our amazing products but also to introduce the masses on what veganism is about! Merry Christmas and keep it juicy!”

Here are some of the names you’ll expect to find:

Aah Lovely (Handmade gifts inc. ceramics, bags & cards)

Creative duo Cally and Tracey are both vegan and have been producing handmade gifts for years. Cally’s business, Ahh Lovely, specialises in handmade ceramic gifts for all occasions and her vegan inspired products, introduced in 2016 have proved very popular. Tracey makes a wide range of items, often featuring her own designs.

Dr Ice (men’s grooming products)

Dr Ice is stirring a revolution in masculine perception with their men’s vegan grooming range. Unconventional sweet shop scents that turn gruff furry faces into irresistible sweetness. All products are not only vegan but are prepared and manufactured in a totally meat free and vegan environment.

Viva La Vegan (organically-made clothing)

Voted ‘Best Fashion Brand’ at the UK Vegan Awards for two years running, Viva La Vegan aim to prove that it is possible to look good without harming animals or the planet. Creator Jay Charlton will be bringing her range of organically-made t-shirts, accessories and shirts for both men and women to #DIGMAS and we’re really excited! Make a vegan statement and wear your Viva La Vegan t-shirts proudly this Christmas!

Hugletts Wood Farm Animal Sanctuary (vegan handmade gifts for all the family)

Hailing from East Sussex, Huglett’s Wood Farm rescue cows, birds and other animals from the meat industry and nurture them in their Animal Sanctuary. They help to fund this vital work by making and selling products such as their natural vegan incense, unique hand-made vegan bags, Christmas Stockings, catnip stockings and fair-trade ladies garments. There’ll also be a huge range of greetings cards and prints featuring some of the rescued animals and birds available at their #DIGMAS stall.

U-Juice (organic fruit & vegetable drinks)

U-Juice offer customers a great range of organic fruit & vegetable drinks – no sugars, sweeteners or syrups, just PURE fruit & vegetables.

Their range includes Green Detox juices and Fruityfull smoothies. They also create homemade organic soups.

Badger’s Dairy Free (dairy-free side dishes)

Badger’s Dairy & Egg Free are bringing their tasty range of side-dishes along to #DIGMAS. Their alternatives to coleslaw, potato salad and egg mayonnaise will all be available in 250g pots or in a selection of sandwiches available on the day.

The May Bakery (vegan cupcakes, cakes & cookies)

A delicious range of vegan cupcakes, cakes and cookies awaits you this #DIGMAS. The May Bakery’s flavour range includes Oreo, chocolate mint, biscoff, lemon, rocky road plus many more. They also produce gluten free and sugar free products.

Honest Skincare (beauty products)

There’s no need to pack products full of synthetic ingredients when a few, carefully chosen, natural ones are far more effective. King’s Heath-based Honest Skincare lovingly craft each of their products by hand so they know exactly what goes into everything they make.

Their range of products only contain 100% pure ingredients with powerful properties to take care of your skin. Honest Skincare’s ethos is that if nature is taking care of us, we should be looking after nature too, so their packaging is simple, biodegradable and reusable. Their waste is minimal and the products are only tested on people, never on animals.

And of course, don’t forget our street food traders have got lots of vegan options and the Custard Factory’s resident craft beer experts, Clink, have a vegan range too!
